Swedish Massage is a circulation-based form of bodywork. Different strokes are applied directly to the body, using cream or oil, and the client is draped at all times. Pressure is adjusted to achieve the goals of each session, as well as for the client’s comfort. Deep Tissue is a form of Swedish massage which targets particular problems, and more time and energy are spent on these areas—usually with more pressure applied.
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork based on traditional Chinese medical theory. Hand and finger pressure are applied to acupuncture points and along the meridians (energy pathways) of the body. The goal of shiatsu is to balance the Qi (energy) and return the client’s physical, mental and energetic aspects into harmony. Loose, comfortable clothing is worn for the session.
Aromatherapy is a light Swedish massage performed with an oil custom-blended before each session. Physical and emotional goals are considered when choosing the essential oils for the blend. Aromatherapy, while light in pressure, can have profound effects both physically and energetically.
